Rose Jam For our wedding we passed out rose flavored Turkish delight. Many people thought it was strange, a little bit like eating perfume, but to us it was an exciting foretaste of our life together in Turkey. Little did we know that the Lord would give us the opportunity to live in Isparta, home of the roses. Indeed, one could easily be inundated here with rose soaps, lotions, perfumes, rose-scented candles, rose-flavored Turkish delight, and rose jams, to name a few. Walking into one of the many ubiquitous rose shops in the city center can be a little much can be like viewing a poor snapshot of a beautiful landscape—nice, but in no way as wonderful as physically passing the rose fields at just the right season, in the dawn when the buds are just opening and their scent is heightened. During this season, field workers spend their days picking delicate rose petals from the bushes and packing them off to go to a factory from whence our Isparta’s rose goods are produced. Some p
