Araba Koltuğu (Car Seat)

RAB’bin sevgisini sonsuza dek ezgi lerle öveceğim... (Mezmurlar 89:1) I will sing of the lovingkindness of the LORD forever… (Psalms 89:1) Our Sofia Ezgi is three and a half months old now, over 12 pounds in weight, alert and ever smiling— with one exception: she hates her car seat. We stayed fairly close to home for her first three months of life, but the Meffords can only stay put for so long. We missed worshiping at our church in Antalya, so car seat aversion or not, we made the two hour journey twice. The first sojourn was kind of like a “practice run.” Fortunately she slept most of the way. The second Sunday we headed down was Easter: going as a family was a priority regardless of the pitiful wailing or how many times we had to stop the car so Rebecca could nurse. In the end it was a beautiful thing to introduce our daughter to our friends and all together celebrate her first Resurrection Day.

Enerji (Energy)

Lincoln and Mommy-- Jogging buddies. The other day Rebecca was heading out for a light jog and Lincoln begged to go along. Our suspicion was that exercise length and duration would be stunted by a four-year old, but not wanting to turn down his honest and persistent request the two headed out into the fine spring air. Almost a mile and a half later the two came home having worked up a sweat. For the most part Lincoln kept up with the pace and made it fun, pretending Mommy was a speeding taxi cab and he was a police car ready with a speeding ticket. There were sporadic stops for gasoline as well. We’ve always known it, but this kid has TONS of energy!
