Gel! (Come!)

Image
Every year, without fail, the dawn of December and its brisk morning air brings with it a sense of anticipation. Even more so this year, as we await the birth of our daughter. Christmas is a time of festive decorations, passing out cookies, and listening to carols. It is a time of putting our thoughts on the birth of Jesus, the Messiah, adoring Him as the shepherds and wise men did so long ago. And with a baby in Rebecca’s belly the reality of Mary’s discomfort as well as her eager expectation to see her baby rings a new chord. Maybe we are far from our hometowns, far from relatives, and a good game of monopoly after a turkey and mashed potatoes dinner. Yet each day is still filled with meaning…hope…expectancy. To our friends around the world who celebrate with us:  Merry Christmas!
