Türkiye'nin Hindileri (Turkey's Turkeys)

Image
Before    After Finding a whole Turkey in the grocery store is difficult at anytime other than New Years, but our neighbor was kind enough to take us to a nearby farm so we could pick out our own turkey! Thankfully, the farmer did the plucking and (most of) the gutting for us. We enjoyed sharing the final cooked product with that neighbor and her family and sharing what we are thankful for with them. Then continuing the tradition of continual Thanksgiving dinner grazing we had some American friends drive two hours from Antalya to celebrate again with us.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We are certainly thankful for how this special holiday was spent here in the land of Turkey.

Çalışma İzni (Work Permission)

Phillip's boss called and said the paperwork is on its way, direct from Ankara. He should have all the proper work permissions and be starting English teaching by December 8th...İnşallah!

Parti'ye Gelin! (Come to the party!)

Although Turks generally only throw birthday party's for kids, Rebecca took the opportunity to meet her neighbors by throwing a 30th birthday party. It was such a success the ladies in the apartment building are talking about planning a monthly get-together.
