Lincoln's Log: Six Month

Age : Six Months Quotes : Bebeğe güneş vuruyor! “The sun is hitting the baby!” A few weeks ago the Turkish populace was concerned about Lincoln getting too cold. The new fear for the season is getting sun struck. The point is, everyone is looking out for our little guy. Height : 64.5 cm (almost 25 ½ inches) Weight : 6.68 kilos (about 14.7 pounds) Eating : Lincoln’s palate is increasing daily! He’s now eating all kinds of fruits, vegetables, rice cereal and oatmeal. Soon we will start introducing egg yolk, cheeses, and meats. Sleeping : Having recently returned from great grandma’s funeral, let’s just say, an infant with jet-lag is interesting. Skills : Putting his toes in his mouth; Practicing different kinds of sounds (mostly “mmm…” a prototype for ‘mom’?!); Pulling mom’s hair and glasses.

There is a saying in Turkish, kefenin cebi yok , the burial shroud has no pockets. A reminder that we can't take anything with us once we've passed from this life--material posessions, ambitions, loved ones... Grandma Vivian took nothing with her, but she left an invaluable legacy behind. Here is a portion of a letter we wrote to her to say goodbye: Dear Grandma Vivian, ...You didn't let anything keep you from living a full and eventful life. Auntie Ayşe’s Cookbook Havuçlu Yoğurt Carrot Yogurt Description : Often served in amongst a menagerie of appetizers, this unique carrot yogurt will surprise your taste buds. It’s really tasty spread on toasted bread or crackers. Ingredients : ½ kg. large carrots 2 Tbsp olive oil 250 gr. Yogurt 2 cloves garlic salt paprika Directions : Finely grate the carrots, then sauté in olive oil adding salt to taste. Crush the garlic and mix into the yogurt. Add the sautéed carrots. Mix well, sprinkle with paprika and serve.
